DBA - Industry Insights

Meet DBA board treasurer Chris Schneider

Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.
I’ve been involved in the dairy industry my entire life. I grew up on a dairy farm in Hilbert, Wis., and later went on to study agriculture at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. For 21 years, I’ve been at Nicolet
National Bank working in ag lending. Prior to working at the bank, I spent some time on the family farm and also worked at a John Deere dealer. I’m passionate about helping Wisconsin farms succeed and also support conservation efforts through my involvement on the Peninsula Pride Farms board of directors, a farmer-led watershed conservation group in Door and Kewaunee Counties.

Tell us why you are committed to the organization and what it means to your company.
I’m committed to DBA and its mission of moving dairy forward. Many of the clients I work with are members of DBA. Staying involved with the organization helps me better understand the challenges farmers face and allows me to be part of the solutions as an industry ally, supporting the best interests of Wisconsin farms.

What are you currently enjoying the most in your role on the board, and what are you looking forward to in the months ahead?
I enjoy staying involved on the board and being closely engaged with current challenges affecting farmers. I especially look forward to our Dairy Strong conference every year in January, where farmers and allied businesses come together to connect and hear from speakers on key industry topics.
